Developer provides the solution to expanding systems provider's needs

A FORMER brickworks site at Hamilton has been the venue for a joint celebration this week after the successful relocation of a 28-year-old business, which has spent more than three years looking for a suitable site.
MCR Systems has just signed up for the largest unit on Westleigh Developments' new business park at Hamilton – Vantage Park - which is purpose-built for its needs thanks to a successful collaboration between Westleigh and commercial property agent Andrew and Ashwell.
MCR Director Barry Archer said:
“After looking to relocate for three years without success, MCR was approached by Andrew and Ashwell who introduced us to Westleigh Developments. Following lengthy discussions, it was decided to proceed with Westleigh, as they were receptive to meeting MCR’s bespoke requirements for purpose-built facilities. Vantage Park also provides the image in keeping with MCR’s expansion.”
MCR's expansion has been backed by EMDA with a grant for £200,000, for the research and development of Symphony, a new web based reporting suite designed specifically to meet the needs of the hospitality industry.
Work has now started on the 1.5 acre business park site. It will be used for high quality office units in a courtyard design mirroring similar successful Westleigh developments at Market Harborough, Lutterworth, Coalville and Daventry. The smallest of these units will be around 1,200 sq ft and the largest, for which MCR's pre-sale has now been agreed, will be 7,500 sq ft.
Matthew Moore, Property Manager, Westleigh commented: “We're delighted that Westleigh was able to cater for the very specific needs of MCR's new project. Location is obviously important for firms like MCR and the shortage of industrial land in Leicester makes finding the right site a real challenge. Westleigh's business parks overall have been part of a winning formula. They provide plenty of parking, good overall accessibility and motorway links and attractive, purpose-built accommodation for all types of businesses.”
Malcolm Grayson, of Andrew and Ashwell, said: “There is a growing market for developments such as Vantage Park, which provide perfect bases for small to medium-sized businesses. They not only provide the solution for local firms looking to relocate away from the city centre, but are also drawing in new businesses to the area. We have received exceptional levels of interest at a very early stage and naturally it is pleasing to secure the high take-up level. Clearly there has been a gap in the market for this location and product.”
